What is an Essential Oil Blend?
Essential oil blends are a mixture of different essential oils combined to create a certain effect. So, if you’re hoping to find healing from your PCOS symptoms, you should combine essential oils that have all been shown to be beneficial for various PCOS issues like hormonal imbalance, mood problems, and insulin resistance! Below, you’ll find some of the best essential oils for PCOS to use in your next blend.
How to Use Essential Oils for PCOS
You can either buy pure essential oils or diluted essential oils. If you use pure essential oils, you’ll need to combine them with a carrier oil like coconut oil, jojoba oil, or sunflower oil. Or, you can put them into your diffuser or dilute them in a bath. 3-10 drops of essential oils in the carrier oil, the diffuser, or the bath should do! (But I recommend you always start with less and then add from there.) If you’d rather not mess with this process, you can buy skincare products that already have essential oils inside.
What Essential Oils are Best for PCOS?
Cinnamon
Cinnamon essential oil is one of the best for PCOS—and it smells great, too! Studies show that cinnamon essential oils can be anti-inflammatory, improve menstrual regularity, regulate mood swings, and potentially promote hormone balance!
Thyme
Thyme essential oils can be beneficial for hormone balance, inflammation, circulation, digestive health, and stress relief! It also has antioxidant benefits and is naturally antimicrobial for immune health benefits!
Rosemary
Rosemary essential oil is key for PCOS hair loss! Studies show that rosemary oil can help boost hair growth, reduce hair loss, and give you overall healthy hair. Many of the Cysters in our community swear by rosemary for hair loss and Sirak even uses it as a preventative tool! Even if you’re pretty new to essential oils, you’ve probably used lavender essential oil at some point whether in a lotion or spray! Its best-known benefits are stress relief and improved sleep, however it can also help with skin health, pain relief, and hormone balance. Try a few drops of lavender essential oil in your diffuser before bed to see if it helps you improve your sleep with PCOS.
Clary Sage
